Studio Paradiso – Accommodation

Studio Paradiso is based in the Central Victorian Goldfields in a little hamlet called Sandon, 15 min from Castlemaine.

Paradiso @ Sandon is perfect for a private getaway. Attached to the studio of artist/printmaker Diana Orinda Burns, this small self contained refuge provides a sanctuary for reflection and rest.

An acre of land surrounds the historical former Primitive Methodist church built in 1864 and fits seamlessly into the surrounding countryside. Twenty years ago there was no garden, yet today the established garden offers a singular beauty.

The space

It is an inviting destination that is in close proximity to Newstead, Daylesford, Clunes, Maldon and Castlemaine.

The studio occupies the old church – the extension of this building houses the guest suite, which is completely separate from the studio.
The studio is often occupied for artistic activities, which are non intrusive to the accommodation space.
The suite offers a queen size bed, a three seater lounge, dining table, together with TV, books, magazines and games.
The kitchenette has sink, microwave, small bar fridge, toaster and electric jug, picnic basket and outdoor rug. Tea, coffee, and milk are provided.

Doors open onto a covered, brick paved, verandah with table, chairs and gas barbecue facilities- ideal for breakfast on a sunny morning. Guests have access to the entire garden area.

A Mediterranean style garden encloses an olive hedge incorporating espaliered nashi pears, apple, and figs. Garden seats allow one to ponder the beauty of the garden and the natural landscape. A Persian oak tree provides shade in summer – a perfect place for reading, writing, drawing or outdoor picnics.

Original art works hang on the walls.

The guest suite is fully serviced prior to occupancy with all linen, bedding and towels provided.

Heating and cooling is via a split system.

Mobile reception is at times variable however WiFi is set up for your stay.
